I agree, the privacy aspect of Foursquare can be unnerving. I don’t report every location I visit. I don’t report places like where I bank. I think women especially need to be careful how they use it. I’ve heard a few stories about uncomfortable experiences.

The social networks I use mainly are: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr and YouTube. I use Empire Avenue, Foursquare and Yelp. I’ve tried many, but a lot of them I don’t find that interesting.

I have noticed a lot of people on FB using FourSquare. I am not comfortable with forever broadcasting my location….even if I get some kind of honor or something. Anyway, Great post. Good food for thought on the marketing aspect. What other networks are you a part of online?

Thanks Chris! I figured I’ll put the reviews on Yelp but not on my blog too. I might run into a duplicate content issue if I do that.

I thought I’d put a link to each review on this post as I go along. It’s going to be a bit of an organic process, so who knows what kind of odd stuff I’ll see out there. I have thought of a few different ideas for blog posts already. I’ll definitely be picking my favourites.

I’ll update on Foursquare, post the reviews on Yelp and put pictures on Flickr. I wanted to give Yelp a try. I have never really heard much about it, but it came to my attention recently.

Great idea! I’ll be interested to see what you find. Reviews are just going on Yelp? Going to do a summary every 10 or so on here? Starbucks of the Month?
